Or in English...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Mike and I rang in the New Year with some friends in the Okinawa capital city, Naha. We all headed south to the city, checked into hotel rooms and got all dressed up. Later that night, we shared a meal at a fancy restaurant including several courses with tiny amounts of food including the tiny cup of coffee at the end.
Shotgun and Storm sat with us.
The other table was Cecily and Axe and Lucy and Stitch.
Big guy, tiny drink.
From there we headed to a bar on Kokusia Street for a drink but found it was not the place we wanted to ring in the New Year.
Shotgun, Storm, Axe, and Shot bellied up to the bar at Rehab.
Stitch and Lucy found the Champagne Room for some privacy.
As we left the first place, Storm said, "I know of a cool place. It's call J's." So we got in cabs and asked the Japanese cabbies to take us to J's. When we got there it was 11:45 and NOT the place we expected! But what could we do so close to midnight? So we went in and took over the place!! It wasn't that difficult as there were only 2 patrons and 2 bar tenders there at the time. We quickly made ourselves at home, ordered a few drinks, danced to the music, and made friends with the bartenders! By the end of the night, we made friends with most of the people in the place (more showed up later that night).
We danced our hearts out in the empty bar!
The good thing was that we got quick service at the bar!
Shot and I with our new friends Masa and Katsu.
We met lots of new friends that night!
The most ironic part of the whole night was that we spent the majority of our Japanese New Years in an American style bar! The decor was American, the music was American, ever the bartenders spoke English! All in all, we had a fantastic evening ringing in 2011! We will NEVER have another NYE quite like it... We will never have any other evening quite like it!
